About a month back (December 12, 2015) my best friend proposed! The morning was a perfect culmination of all the planning done by the closest dudes in my life. Everything was so thoughtful - from the serene location to the spread of my favorite snacks and juices laid out on a park table. To my surprise, the plan to meet for a Secret Santa exchange was rigged. I was purposely given Charles while he knowingly planned to have me.
On his turn, I was not only surprised to find out he had a gift for me (he originally tricked me into believing he had Cassie), but that the gifts he got were purchased two years ago when we first started dating. He told me his plan was to give it to me if we ever got engaged and then proceeded to pop the question! Teary-eyed, I said yes! It was all so surreal. I was still in a flurry of emotion as people I loved came out from hiding to rejoice and celebrate with us!
The two books Charles got were the ones you fill out to chronicle your personal stories, which I find fitting in a time where we are transitioning from one season to the next. I am so blessed to have you by my side. I'm sure the newness of it all will present many challenges, but I'm excited to serve, grow and learn with you. God is so good for how He has orchestrated our story thus far and I can't wait to see how it unfolds as we strive together to mimic the greatest example of love shown in Christ. Thank you Lord!
