Celebrating one year of marriage

Charles and I traveled up north to celebrate one year of marriage! For 2 days, we trekked through Yosemite National Park. First day, we conquered Bridaveil Falls, Lower Yosemite Falls, and our favorite: the Mist Trail to Vernal Falls. Second day, we woke up at 4:30am to have the sequoias at Tuolumne Grove all to ourselves. We took the hour-long drive down Tioga road afterwards, hitting Tenaya Lake and Tuolumne Meadows. Lastly, we caught a shuttle to Glacier Point and marveled at the view 7,214 feet above the valley. During our time in Yosemite, we had an interesting stay at the Teardrop Trailer, in the small town of Mariposa. Following, we relaxed at a quirky bed & breakfast in Los Alamos, a 15 min. drive from Solvang and our favorite burger joint - Sides!

It's crazy to think a year has gone by. For 365 days and then some, we have laughed, loved, cried, dreamt, traveled, fought and forgave. We learned (and are still learning) how to love and serve each other better. It has been trying and difficult, but so very worth it. I love being married to this man. He is sweet, silly, and thoughtful. A man of initiative and action. He challenges me daily, and while we are imperfect, we strive together to mimic the perfect example we have in Jesus. We are still such rookies, but it is a joy to live life with you. Both through this man and through creation, I am reminded that all good gifts come from above. What a wild year, Lord you are so good!
