Our Christmas

This was our first married Christmas together! Remember these moments.

Christmas Eve was spent with dear friends, homemade pizza, Harry Potter, and some last minute packing. Early next morning, we were on a plane to Portland, OR!

For four days, we stayed in the Arctic Fox, a cozy camper complete with a mini dining area, kitchen, queen-sized bed on the "second floor", and a TV (with Netflix!). Not realizing that practically all of Portland shuts down for the holidays, Christmas dinner consisted of gas station nachos and hot pockets. For the remainder of our trip, we utilized the MAX transit and visited Pioneer Courthouse Square, Multnomah Falls, Powell's Books, and enjoyed tax-free shopping. For food, we stopped at Pok Pok, Salt & Straw, Small Pharaoh's (Charles' favorite food truck in Portland!), Blue Star DonutsDeschutes Brewery, and Por Que No?.

Early Thursday morning, we made our way to Seattle, where we visited Pike Place Market, the first Starbucks, Seattle's Gum Wall, Chihuly's Garden and Glass Museum, Kerry Park, their "mystery Soda Machine", and ate at Piroshky Piroshky (a little family-owned German bakery, our favorite!), Walrus and the CarpenterPike Place Chowder, and Dick's Drive-in.

We headed home Saturday, where we spent a quiet night with our dogs before ringing in the New Year. Truly cherishing these moments together in our first year of marriage. So thankful to have a break from the busyness of life, and the opportunity to celebrate together one of the most joyous times of the year - the birth of our savior Jesus Christ!
